If we take the sun as our model of spiritual evolution then we have to learn to treat all the people we meet with equanimity.
How easy it is for us to like the look of one person and be well disposed to that person, whereas someone else who is less attractive to us is not given the same attention if any?
The sun has no favourites. It shines on sinner and saint. The ill and the healthy. It is up to us to learn from its radiance.
Most of us have someone in our life who is not particularly pleasant. Someone we might find difficult to like.
Well if we are interested in living in the Golden Age consciousness, then there is a lot of work to do.
I too have people who test my patience, who I do not have an affinity with. However, I realise that they too are children of the cosmos. What right do I have to treat them differently? I may not want to spend a lot of time with them, but I certainly have to change my perception of them. Besides, we are all joined on some level. We are all parts of a larger body: the body of humanity.
This is where imagination comes to the rescue. We can exercise at envisaging them as Cosmic Intelligence would. They have a divine spark within, just like I have. I will concentrate on that. I remind myself, that they too have a spirit. By focusing on their divine side, I work on them as well as on myself.
